The Leela are a high class chain of hotels and they are aiming to make this Kovalam hotel the best in South East Asia within a couple of years. The hotel is superbly positioned, sitting on top of a cliff face overlooking The Arabian Sea. It is currently going through major refurbishments although the noise is kept to a minimum and I hardly noticed it during my stay. The new reception area is stunning and the Infinity Pool enjoys superb views out to sea. From my observations The Leela promises to be an exceptional hotel once all the refurbishments are complete. The rooms are certainly spacious and luxurious.
If a luxury hotel is what you are looking for in the Kovalam area then The Leela could be for you. However this comes at a hefty price and you may want to consult Trip Advisor to see if other holidaymakers found it value for money before you commit.
